In Germany, the Vivy health app is now available to around 19.6 million insured persons. Only recently, Vivy employees presented the HealthDataSpace integration into the Vivy App at the German X-Ray Congress 2019 in Leipzig.
View X-ray images directly in the Vivy app
“Until now, patients were hardly involved in the health process. We would like to change this and have found a partner in the Vivy digital health file who shares this mission with us,” says Telepaxx Managing Director Andreas Dobler. For this reason, Telepaxx wants to make its medical images (X-ray, CT, MRT, etc.) available to Vivy users in compliance with data protection regulations. Participating radiological facilities and clinics will in future enable their patients to view examination images in the Vivy health record. Medical facilities benefit in particular from this convenient connection without installation effort. In this way, millions of people in Germany are given the opportunity to actively shape their health.
It’s as simple as that
“So that patients can view their examination images stored in encrypted form in their health records, in future we will enable all Vivy users to access their X-ray images,” explains Marc Pickardt, Product Owner for HealthDataSpace. After each radiological examination at a participating medical facility, patients receive an access code that allows access to the medical images. By entering the code into the Vivy app, patients can now link their health record to their images. All health data is continuously encrypted on the client side and is stored at all times in compliance with data protection regulations
Drivers of digitisation in the health care sector
The cooperation between HealthDataSpace and Vivy is a major step on the way to giving patients sovereignty over their own health data. Vivy is one of the first providers of an electronic health record (eGA) in Germany. Since September 2018, a large number of well-known statutory and private health insurance companies have been making the app available to their policyholders free of charge. In addition to the functions of an electronic health record (eGA), Vivy offers patient-centric services such as a medication plan with reminder function, a digital emergency passport, help with doctor searches or an integrated health check.
Telepaxx stores more than 13 billion health data providers.
One of the providers of HealthDataSpace is Telepaxx Medical Data GmbH, which also operates the largest health cloud in Europe. More than 600 customers – including the largest hospital chains in Germany – currently entrust Telepaxx with more than 13 billion medical images, findings and other information. Telepaxx encrypts all health data on the client side with a public and private key procedure and stores information from Germany exclusively on servers in Germany. The proven Telepaxx operating procedure ensures high availability by storing at least two copies of each file in different data centers.
